Subject: Join conference call briefing by USPSTF on Fri, Oct 14 from 3-4pm ET
I have just received an email from Virginia Moyer, MD,
MPH, the Chair of the U.S. Preventive Services Task
Force (USPSTF), inviting us to participate in an
upcoming briefing on the USPSTF Draft Recommendation
Statement on Prostate Cancer Screening on Friday October
14.
“Earlier this week, the U.S. Preventive Services
Task Force posted its draft recommendation statement
on prostate cancer screening for public comment. The
draft recommendation statement may be viewed at:
http://www.uspreventiveservicestaskforce.org/tfcomment.htm.
I encourage you and your organization to review the
draft recommendation statement and provide comments.
You will be able to submit comments from October 11 to
November 8, 2011.”
“The Task Force will also be holding a briefing via conference call
on its draft recommendation and our rationale on
Friday, October 14th from 3 to 4pm ET. During
this briefing we will provide an overview of the
USPSTF, summarize the systematic review of the
evidence, and walk-through our draft recommendation
statement. During the briefing, we will not be
accepting any questions, but will encourage
participants to submit their comments via our website.
The call will be limited to the first 200 people who
respond.”
“If you are interested in listening to this week’s
briefing,
please RSVP to jburwell@amplifypublicaffairs.net by Friday, October 14th at 10am ET
and include your name, organization and email address.
An email will be sent the day of the call with the
call-in information and materials for the call.”
If you are available, please join me in being on the
call.
Also, you probably have noticed that the USPSTF website
is down and not able to accept comments at this time. We
would like to think that so many of us have tried to
post comments, that we’ve overwhelmed their website!
Keep up the good work! Our voices are being heard, and
we are making a difference!
